Muslim Pupils 'double since 2001'.

The number of Muslim children attending schools has almost doubled since 2001, a report suggests. BBC.

I have no wish to make any point from this matter but I am rather puzzled by the 'why'. Have Islamic birth rates shot up? - Frankly, I doubt it. With the vast majority of immigrants over the same period coming from Eastern Europe, inter al, how has this influenced the situation?

Something is looking decidedly 'dodgy' here but I have no idea what!
