Brexit: The Current Situation.

announced last month he had renounced to field 317  candidates in a bid to help Boris Johnson keep a hold of the seats Conservatives won in the 2017 election this coming December. Mr Farage said his remaining prospective MPs will target northern constituencies in the  heartland to erode majorities for Opposition MPs to strengthen pro-Brexit positions in Parliament. But Brexit Party founder Catherine Blaiklock told LBC prospects for Mr Farage and his candidates are bleak: "I don't think they'll win any seats at all. Express.

Blogger: There is every chance that Catherine has hit the nail on the head. Nigel's tactics have been disastrous for the BP. There is no single, positive outcome that can be predicted.
Worse than that is the seats which Tories can ill-afford to fail to take where his diversions promise to be damaging. It would not surprise me at all were the left to begin slyly telling disillusioned Labour-voting Brexiteers, on the quiet, to vote Brexit Party in some Labour held constituencies.
Tories could easily lose twenty seats of their own: Scotland; Tory remainer seats in London; Tory seats in the South and through Liberal Democrat surges.
Hopefully, it will not be that bad.
To have any overall majority, the Tories must make large inroads in Labour marginals where Brexit Party candidates will do little other than hand many seats to Labour on a silver platter.
Like Boris's Brexit or not - this will be the final chance we ever get to leave.
15% lead to the Tories in Sunday's YouGov Poll. Please pray for that kind of outcome.
Incidentally, do remember that in the political declaration, there is still much room for manoeuvre. May's Brexit meant remain; Boris's meant we shall leave with a mediocre deal; in so many portions of the political declaration there is room to turn this into a fairly good deal. Canada Super Plus is to be coveted - and is comfortably achievable.
ANYTHING that gets us out of the EU has to be better than splitting the Tory vote now that every single candidate has pledged Boris to help get us out.
