First Test In New Zealand.

Root won the toss and batted on what promised to be a decent pitch - it wasn't. All batsmen found scoring difficult which suggests that the pitch is actually quite slow.
Sibley, on debut, scored 22 but saw off the new ball. There were some question marks about his technique.
Burns marched on to a half century as did Denley who had held the innings together.
Ben Stokes on 67 looks set to be damaging tomorrow and Pope has looked decent.
241 for four - IMHO - England's day.
