Vegas.

Well. Are the people here in glitzy Las Vegas really having fun or is it all a kind of self delusion? [I shall leave the principle of gambling for another time.]
Those who like to drink are having to pay through the nose in 95% of places.
Food is expensive, even by American standards, in 90% of places.

The vast majority will leave here having lost a substantial proportion of their hard earned cash; others will have spent beyond what they can afford and some will be ruining their entire lives and that of their families. For many of these, today will be a turning point in their lives.
I would bet that more divorces are caused by Vegas than are marriages and of the latter - I suspect that many are not beginning on firm ground.

Again I would wager that this place brings about more suicides than it does millionaires.

Prostitutes advertise by card distributors on the Strip to all passers by - though largely ignored, I am pleased to report.

And yet: sad, shallow and in many ways pathetic as it all is, it is also a tribute to man's ingenuity. The buildings, statues, replicas and monuments truly are breathtaking.

Those who go to the shows and concerts return with smiles.

It is hardly for me to judge when people are opting how to use their freewill.

Malaysia.
