All Is Not Well In The Failing CofE.

Bishop on the brink: Church chief battles for his job after 25 in his diocese sign unprecedented motion demanding he quits over financial crisis and the sacking of more than 20 staff.

  • The Bishop of Winchester Right Rev Tim Dakin holds one of only five senior roles in the Church of England that is automatically given a seat in the House of Lords
  • Now, he is first bishop in Church's history to be subject of no-confidence motion
  • The motion has been signed by 25 senior clergy and elected lay representatives
  • The calls for him to go have been sparked by a financial crisis and the sacking of more than 20 clergy and other staff

Phew.
