Our quangocracy.

£124 billion pounds a year is what we pay into quangos - a mere trifle for those havens of politically correct leadership; unelected bodies designed for various sorts of political manipulation and nepotism.
They show precisely the same degree of arrogance as does the European Union - but we must not be too surprised as both these organisations are not entirely unconnected.

What I wonder is precisely how much of this massive sum could be clawed back without making a ha'porth of negatives in our society - I would hazard a total guess and suggest more than half. Add that to the savings made by withdrawing from the EU and we could nearly double pensions, make society work through capital projects AND have oodles left over for slashing taxation.
