Money Tip: Always Shop Around.

I recently suggested that the only way to beat supermarket costs is to store prices in your head and to rotate supermarkets.
Knowing that my readership probably possess more common sense than any other identifiable group on the planet - I know that I may well be trying to 'teach my grandmother to suck eggs'.

Nonetheless, whenever utilities bills, insurances et al raise their ugly heads - do go online and seek out a better deal. Comparison websites work wonders against renewal premiums etc.
Last week I changed my buildings insurer. I saved £53 compared to the premium paid last year and as extras, I gained free legal assistance, a 24 hour helpline and free emergency callouts on electrical and water issues. It had taken me just 40 minutes.
'I just can't be bothered' is a VERY expensive way to live!
I crave that point when the large firms will reward customers for loyalty rather than penalising them for it.
