Miseries and misanthropists.

If there is something which some people enjoy; does not cause taxes to be raised; which does no harm to others; does not 'dumb society down' even further; is not illegal or immoral yet may not be too easy to understand from the outside - then so WHAT?
We are supposed to be a free society, aren't we. If you are a gricer or a twitcher, a supporter of Skegness Town FC or a kite-flying enthusiast - it is nobody else's business!
So, at the moment we have the petty-minded bleating about the royal wedding coverage; there are those who gripe whenever there is a sporting event on national TV; there are ones who attack the (admittedly horrible) Eurovision Song Contest. I do not care for olympic sports very much - but do you hear me rattling on about the costs of holding the event in the UK?
Because they do not like something they believe that nobody else should be allowed to follow that pursuit.
Letters Pages are full of these whiners. One should not really use these outlets for the petty and super trivial. We have a society sinking faster than the Titanic yet they seem unable to see beyond the ends of their noses.
Okay. Rant over!
