Why the EU genuinely scares me.

As empires went, The British version was generally benevolent and effectively self-dissolved. The reasons for this were quite complex but, given time, the demise of any empire is an inevitable fact of life.
When an empire wishes to impose its will onto a large variety of disparate groups, whether these be ethnically, religiously or simply nationalistically based, it has to be by force of arms.

In the 20th century, as Britain attempted to modernise and became increasingly realistic to the calls for democracy [not always willingly] two nations were going their own sweet way and trying to do the impossible.

The USSR and Yugoslavia were leftist and totalitarian by nature. Initially, they were held together by empty, socialistic rhetoric but ultimately these nations relied on the power of their secret police and armed forces to be 'social glue'.
I believe that that sort of structure is essential to hold together an EU which is as far distant from being the Common Market we voted for, as the sun is from the moon.
The EU is flying in the face of generations of history as it tries to impose a federalised [ie} imperialistic] state onto the nations of Europe.

The powers of its Europol Police Force already exceed - technically at least - the powers granted to the Gestapo. It has a cross border arrest warrant which can see a person arrested and transferred to another EU state for what is not even a crime in their own country!

Moves towards a fully integrated army move on apace - and our nation will most emphatically NOT have a call on how these forces will be deployed - they may well be used against our own people once they start to realise how apathy has led to our country being vanquished by subterfuge, deceit and Monnet-inspired secrecy.

Maybe that apathy will remain; maybe the people of these islands will erupt into bloody revolt against their absolutist master.

Be assured. The EU WILL fall. Like other empires it will not be able to hold together the countless different elements who will demand freedom, independence and the rights to self determination.

If I get my way and we withdraw whilst that is still vaguely possible, then perhaps we shall not get drawn into the bloodbaths to come. Overstated? - I think not but I pray to God I am wrong!

I spotted an Irish flag on the St Patrick's Day Parade...

... it stated that 'Ireland is full.' Interesting. I looked up the figures. They have roughly 212 people per square mile. England h...
