Watch this space! - Are the compromisers on the retreat?

Last week's General Synod of the Church of England had several rather strange aspects - with even a little Christianity creeping in at several points. Yes. It certainly surprised me too!

' A motion by lay member Paul Eddy affirming the uniqueness of Christ was agreed with 283 votes in favour and only 8 against.'
And interestingly, 'Its significance was not lost on journalist Ruth Gledhill of the London Times who was quick to claim, under the headline ‘Anglicans called on to convert non-Christian believers’, that ‘The established Church of England put decades of liberal-inspired political correctness behind it in a move that led one bishop to condemn in anger the “evangelistic rants”.

The Anglican Church has a very long way to go to rid itself of generations of apostasy but as my old minister, the mighty Pastor Harry Webb, always used to say, "If you want a church to go anywhere then you must first remove all the dead wood."
Time a proper start was made! How about a requirement that clergy must believe in 'the redemptive power of the Risen Lord'? Those who do not will not be ordained and those who are already ordained should be asked to leave? [Although I dread to think how many 'human rights' this would trample on!]

My thanks for information to Charles Raven.

Phew.
