An Interesting Perspective.

'On reading Dr William’s leader article, Jesus’ warning in the Sermon on the Mount came irresistibly to mind: ‘Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?’ (Matthew 7:3). In this case, the hypocrisy no doubt owes much more to denial rather than deliberate intention, but it is impossible not to note that the very failings for which he takes the Coalition to task are mirrored in the Anglican Communion.
In fact, the Lambeth led Communion is itself more accurately described as a Coalition. The slow and tortuous process of the Anglican Covenant, without effective discipline and being acceded to only with various degrees of nuance, shows how feeble the confessional commonality of the Communion is. The insistence of TEC and the Anglican Church of Canada in pushing ahead with the recognition of active same sex relationships has painfully exposed that confessional deficit.' Charles Raven.
