More BNP votes earned?

'Local residents might argue that the existence of a hastily-built travellers' camp is painfully obvious.
But that has not stopped a council diversity panel from proposing a taxpayer-funded scheme to make people more aware of gipsies...
Officials want schools to hold 'gipsy and traveller history months' every academic year, and plan to publish thousands of leaflets explaining why nomadic people are misunderstood....
The £65,000 project would also involve funding a 'gipsy and traveller liaison officer' to aid communication between communities....
A report by the Equality and Diversity Panel for Sandwell Borough Council, near Birmingham, said: 'Such celebrations can help "myth bust", make individual communities feel part of the wider community and overall have a very real impact on community cohesion.'
But Fiona McEvoy, from the Taxpayers' Alliance, said: 'It's not for local councils to manipulate the school curriculum based on their latest politically correct whims, especially when educational standards are flagging.'

NO COMMENTS. NO SURPRISES - JUST AN AWARD TO SANDWELL COUNCIL - EYES RIGHT!
