Sexuality.

This is the text of a fascinating letter from the Staffordshire Sentinel which I thought gave an interesting perspective:

Sir, - Walker Moore (most people born bisexuals) gives a robust defence of sexual inheritance being bisexual. However, Freud's theory that indicates all humans are being born bisexual is not sustainable. A theory is not empirical (OED), so, unless Freud has examined every living human, his 'indicator' is nothing more than opinion. If for example homosexuality was genetically predetermined, homosexuals would have become extinct long ago because of reduced reproduction! Furthermore, Wainwright Churchill observed, "There are no sexual instincts in man, human sexuality is entirely dependent upon learning and conditioning. the individual's pattern of sexual behaviour is acquired in the context of his unique experience and is in no sense innate or inherited." Two major principals need to be carefully understood in order to counter the distortions of recent research. 1. Heritable does not mean inherited. 2 Genetics research which is truly meaningful, will identify and then focus on only traits that are directly inherited. Almost every human characteristic is in significant measure heritable. But few human behavioural traits are directly inherited, in the manner of height for example or eye colour. Inherited means "directly determined by genes", with little or no way of preventing or modifying the trait through a change in the environment. Dr John Money, Professor Emeritus at John Hopkins University reported, "No chromosomal differences have been found between homosexual subjects and heterosexual controls", and, " on the basis of present knowledge, there is no basis on which to justify an hypothesis that homosexuals or bisexuals of any degree or type are chromosomally discrepant from heterosexuals." In conclusion, babies are born sexually neutral, but with the necessary genitals to procreate as they reach the reproduction age. When we couple human adult anatomy with natural desire, the resultant offspring endorses the concept that humans only require emotional/sexual awakening to marry the physical. This is why puberty is so important. There is mileage in the argument that sexuality is latent, but genetic triggers are always timed perfectly (by God), unless someone comprises the design, i.e, Epi-Generics. As for people being born bisexual, this is nothing more than sophistry.
