The scrapping of the 10p starting rate of income tax has infuriated many on the Labour left.Every now and then the old style left do experience some sort of epiphany - [consider Claire Short admitting that uncontrolled immigration is bad for us all] - and in this instance, they have realised that this policy will hit low paid, working class people quite hard. To my astonishment, some of them actually appear to care.
