Knights Templar.

According to the conspiracy theorists who flock around holy grail inventions like flies round dung, the Knights Templar found a copper scroll with details of the location of the concealed treasures of the Jewish Temple which had been hidden by Jewish priests in 70AD.
In that momentous year, Jerusalem was virtually razed to the ground by angry Romans who tore the temple apart.
Then arise the stories of the grail - was it an artifact - or was it a genealogy of 'the descendants of Jesus'? Certainly, the bandwagon authors 'believe' that the Templars did track down the treasures.
Okay, then. They 'used their newly found information to blackmail the Catholic Church'.
One small problem. Hardly worth mentioning really. It is just too trivial.
These were treasures of some description WHICH BELONGED TO THE JEWS OF THE JEWISH TEMPLE.
They were emphatically NOT discoveries from the early Christians but rather from those who were potentially their enemies - who, if they had had detrimental facts against Christianity - would have not hesitated to use them a thousand years before the Templars appear.
All too silly to be taken seriously.
