Polish workers.

A friend who has worked alongside many Polish immigrants in the last two years recently made several strong points.

The first is just how impressive these people are. This is not news to those who fought with them in World War Two or for people like myself as I was educated alongside many Polish youngsters.

Racial stereotyping is 'wrong' we are told. I wonder if that still holds good when pointing out that our polish immigrants are 'head and shoulders' above the immigrants from further east.

The second point was perceptive. No, the majority of these people will not be returning home, and no, they will not settle for doing just the jobs which alleged -by our leftist government - 'Our people refuse to do.'

[Would they refuse if starvation was the alternative, I wonder? As the Apostle Paul wisely said: "If a man will not work - let him not eat!"]

No. The point is that once they have perfected their English - and they will - they will be competing for jobs much higher up the scale and will begin by ousting many English people in better jobs because they will educate themselves to do just that!
We shall then have a second layer of our society where, in these circumstances, people wanting work will be unable to find it.
Will they refresh our society? - Undoubtedly - but at what overall cost?
Just one thing please - DO NOT blame the Poles!
