Eric Delve.

I once remember seeing the very young Eric Delve speak at the Sheffield City Hall to a young audience. [I too was quite young in those days!]
He made the point that as a small child he held the view that Jesus either did not, or could not, walk.
The reason for this was that He was just so holy that His feet never actually touched the ground and this meant that He was always floating just above.
[This is so very close to that public view of Jesus-the-wimp which I have hopefully destroyed on this Blog previously.]
Perceptions of the Lord can be profoundly wrong. 'Gentle Jesus, meek and mild' is a child's prayer and its way, correct but can leave an impression behind it which is far from the case. Jesus was tough, uncompromising, direct and kicked over tables in the Temple when he saw a series of wrongs being perpetrated by the traders but his gesture , of course, was mainly aimed at the priests who were responsible and who were undoubtedly receiving 'a rather nice rake off' from these activities.
Let us all try to get a bit closer to, and understand better, 'the real Jesus'.
