Freedom of speech?

Scrapping the blasphemy laws, according to Christian Voice, is not about freedom of speech at all, but is rather about freeing people to insult God the Son.

Astonishing, isn't it? Political correctness is all about ensuring that nobody's 'finer feelings' may ever be hurt - yet the Saviour of all mankind may be derided and mocked (again) and Christians profoundly upset.

Any hint of a double standard here?

Can we call it a triple standard, I wonder, when we recognise that the current anti-discrimination legislation will inevitably embrace and lovingly protect other religions and with extra special care for Islam?

I am not a gambler but here is a wager. In future, you will be free to portray and insult Christ to the utmost, but if you dare to state in public anything even mildly negative about Mohammed, you WILL be arrested for a breach of the peace - or worse.

Odds on?
