Emigration deceits.

Another piece of rank dishonesty from the liberal left came [and comes still] when they have claimed that emigration from the UK has been so great that 'all immigration is doing is to cancel this out'.
Such an argument cannot possibly have been made with integrity. Not only does it wantonly ignore the army of illegals living in our midst but utterly fails to make a valid economic comparison.
Yes, we do steal some qualified Drs, nurses and engineers from Third World Nations which desperately need them but these are few compared to the brain drain of local talent which has never really stopped. Both of these points are peripheral to the main picture however.
The vast majority of immigrants are without skills at all. Some are semi-skilled and a body are craftsmen in the mould of Polish plumbers.
Some of this latter group are useful as our government, unions and captains of industry made foolish decisions 20 years ago regarding CDT in schools and colleges. That damage has to be undone, I suppose.
The real problem - other than the fact that many of our own workshy no longer have jobs 'to pursue', is that so many of these newcomers are generally removing vast amounts of money from the economy immediately and where tax credits across the EU are concerned, this runs into billions annually.
The expats are, by and large, those who have retired to sunnier climes after a lifetime of contributing in the UK - okay, they do take out of the economy to an extent but are surely beyond criticism. They may have taken their 'grey pound' to Spain but at least those who do this are no burden on our state any longer and are not 'rises in unemployment figures waiting to happen'.
The immigration apologists are not comparing like with like.
