St Bernard needs a brandy!

"St Bernard study casts doubt on Creationism”, claims an article in Manchester University News and Medical News Net ,24 Oct 2007. Kris Klingerberg of the Faculty of Life Sciences, Manchester University, has apparently studied the skulls of 47 St Bernard dogs and looked at how they have changed over the 120 years since the breed was first defined."
Broader skulls, thicker ridge over the eyes and a steeper angle between nose and forehead.

All in just 120 years!

AND some wonder why evolutionists receive so much mockery from thinking people.

a] To use this as a claim for 'natural selection being a force for evolution' rather overlooks the point that the 'selection' was entirely man-controlled throughout the process. Doggy owners made the selections for the kind of characteristics they were seeking. It is called 'selective breeding'.

b] Secondly, there is no new genetic information as would be required for this to be evidence of evolution.

c] The big woof woofs have simply developed within existing genetic parameters and there is no evidence that these have been exceeded, even by allegedly 'positive' mutations, in any species - ever. [Yes I am all too aware of the effects of mutations but the evidence that these are ever truly beneficial, is non-existent.]

d] One must wonder what wild conclusions Mr Klingerberg would have drawn had he been faced with three fossils; one of a great dane, one of a spaniel and one of a chihuahua.

I think we can all hazard a reasonable guess at that one.
